The Independent Miniature Horse Registry Inc. (IMHR) was formed in Australia in 2005 by a small group of passionate miniature horse enthusiasts keen on promoting miniature horse ownership for all.

IMHR aims to provide excellent service for a pocket-friendly fee. All revenue received by IMHR Inc. is returned to the members via show sponsorship and events or goes toward supporting the organisation for costs incurred such as insurance.

Costs are kept to a minimum as we are run by volunteers who give up their time to ensure our members have an opportunity to show and promote their horses in a fun and open environment.

How are we different ? IMHR listens to the members. Our policies are designed to give credibility to the Miniature Horse industry such as measuring at the highest point of wither - just like a full size horse. We provide many free services such as an online Breeders List, regular updates via email, Powerboard access to allow members to share sales, questions and ideas. We also have an optional subscription to our magazine - Miniature Horse Quarterly.

NATIONAL SHOW RESULTS NOW ONLINE

We also sponsor open shows to ensure all members of all organisations are given a forum to show and compete on an even footing. IMHR shows are open to all registered miniature horses. We sponsor most Royal Shows in Australia providing trophies to the winners. Agricultural and Breed Feature Shows are also supported provided they are open to all registered miniature horses and owners holding current membership with any miniature horse organisation. IMHR is affiliated and insured with the Equestrian Federation of Australia (EFA).

IMHR National Shows have held each year in Tamworth drawing hundreds of horses from all over the country. The 2008 Show is being held at Tamworth Showground in the indoor arena on the Anzac weekend 23-25th April.
