How To Book:
Due to the HUGE interest in this event - you must book on the IMHR Work Order and pay in advance so we can confirm numbers for planning and catering purposes.

WHO is hosting the seminars?
Wayne G. Hipsley, BSc, MSc, an internationally licensed and recognized judge for many breeds and disciplines of horses. He has been a licensed Senior American Miniature Horse Association (AMHA) judge for almost 20 years.
His judging assignments include: AMHA World Show - 4 times; AMHA Regional and state shows - over 40; NZMHA National Show - 2 times; IMHR National Show - 2 times; European Championship Miniature Horse Show - 3 times; and Miniature Horse shows outside of the US number over 20.
He has served as the judge educator and instructor for the AMHA judges seminar for over 6 years. He was the lead instructor at the first international judge's seminar conducted by the AMHA in 2003 in Brussels, Belgium. He has conducted 6 judges educational and licensing seminars for the NZMHA. He has served as the judge educator and instructor for the Royal Agricultural Society of New Zealand, horse show section, and his manual on selecting and judging of horses is a required reference for the RASNZ. His judging and educational credentials in other breeds and disciplines are quite lengthy including, instructing at judges seminars in the US for the Arabian, Morgan, Andalusians, Fjords, Rocky Mountain Horse, United Mountain Horse, and Color Breed Council - multi-breed seminars.

WHAT qualifications will I have if I sit for the exam?
Successful seminar and exam participants are admitted to the IMHR Official Judges Panel. IMHR Judges panel is recognized in Australia and distributed to New Zealand.
AMHA International Judges may re-certify their status. Applicants are welcome for AMHA International Judges license. These judges are qualified to judge AMHA approved shows outside of the USA.
Applicants wishing to sit for the judges exams must complete additional forms available from IMHR.

- Analysis of Form to Function
- Analysis of Gait and Movement
- Methods to Assess and Record Exhibitors
The live horse activities will include the following demonstrations and experiences:
- Conformation and Gait Analysis - Developing the "Eye" to See the Real Horse
- In-Hand Presentation - Protocols and Procedures
- Showmanship - Patterns and Scoring
- Obstacle - Evaluation and Scoring
- Driving - Differentiation between Single Pleasure/Harness and Country Pleasure Driving.
- Lungeline - Expectations of the Exhibitor and Horse
- Longreining - Course Design and Evaluation

 With over 50 attendees, it was great to see such support for the IMHR initiative - another exciting first for Miniature Horse in Australia.
If you missed out this time around, don't despair. We plan to run these Clinics twice per year, stay tuned for details of the 2009 Clinics.

"The American Miniature Horse Judging Guide & Reference Handbook"
A must have for anyone serious about Miniature Horses.
